Hello again from CHA in Las Vegas.

Today was the start of the vendor fair and we poured over all the fun new products that are coming soon.
 

Now you can design and produce your own custom stamps.

No kidding! Silhouette has released a brand new stamp kit to create and cut your own acrylic stamps using their cutting machines. Also, watch for the vinyl rolls, iron on transfer paper and adhesive cardstock to join the mats and cutting blades in the Silhouette section at the new store. CHA Day 1

Hello everybody!

This is Teri and Katie saying hello from the Craft and Hobby Convention in Las Vegas. We wondered around town after we arrived.
Monday was our first day of conference and we had a full and educational day in classes and workshops. Tomorrow is the beginning of the vendor fair and we can’t wait to see all the new products coming out for the 2013 fall and winter. I will be sending email updates and posting information on the website so all of you can check out the latest and greatest for yourself.

(For the record… we have decided that the Las Vegas airport is obnoxiously complicated and the city is hot and dirty, but the water and light show at the Bellagio was very pleasing.)

 

We can’t wait to come back and show you all the fun new things we have learned once the new store is open and ready.

Scrapbook Unique is Moving to a Larger Store

Here is the inside scoop on details for this exciting change.

Where is the new store?
The new store is located off of 87^th street just a few blocks down from Quivira road. It is only a couple minutes away from where our store is located currently. For those of you who want to check out the new location, there is a sign in the window that says “Coming Soon, Scrapbook Unique” and the windows are all covered with paper.  The actual address is 12834 W 87^th Street, Lenexa, KS 66215.

What is the new store like?
The new location is twice the size as the current one and the new classroom and crop area will have room for over 30 people to work at the same time. We are also planning to include a new row of customer locker storage units that can be rented out to VIP members. The new VIP membership program is still being developed and we will release more information about that once we are closer to the grand opening. Be sure to let Teri know if there are any great perks that you would like to see included in that program.

When are you moving?
We have already started the renovation and moving process and estimate it will take about 2 months to get everything put together. The current goal is to be ready for a grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 3^rd. The old store will still be open for most of the summer, but will close by July 20^th so we can travel to CHA and order new product to fill the new store with and put the last few finishing touches on everything.

Will you still have classes and crops?
You bet!!! We will have a fun and engaging class schedule from now until July 13^th. The new class calendars will be released early next week so be sure and watch for that email to come soon.

What will happen to the product that isn’t moving?
The third week in July, from the 16^th to the 20^th will be a huge close out clearance sale. We will also be limiting the new orders delivered to the old store in hopes of moving less product and filling the new store with exciting new stuff.

Beginner Zentangle Class

The Beginner Zentangle Class is Back

We know many of you have been waiting to attend the introductory Zentangle class. Now is your chance. We will be restarting the beginner class series in one week. The first class completely sold out so be sure to sign up quickly. We are planning to start a Zentangle club soon and only class attendees will be invited.

Zentangle Class #1 - Beginner Zentangle Art
Wednesday, April 3rd
Cost is $25 and includes all class supplies. No experience necessary.

Zentangle Class # 2 – Lines and Borders
Wednesday, April 24th
Cost is $20 and includes all class supplies. Beginner Zentangle class is required.

Students who attended these classes previously and would like to take one again may bring their supplies back and pay a reduced class fee. Please contact Teri for details.

What is Zentangle Art? – Zentangle art is a method using deliberate strokes and repetitive patterns to create abstract works of art. This meditative and relaxing process is similar to doodling in that it can simultaneously help you to unwind, focus and explore your creative side. Unlike doodling, it is an identifiable and structured art form that can be taught and practiced. The Zentangle method is easy enough for all levels of crafters and can be adapted into enhance your current hobbies.

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and we will be celebrating with a special Celtic inspired Zentangle class. Students will learn how to create several Celtic knots and Celtic borders and see examples of how these can be incorporated into your Zentangle projects. Students must have taken at least the first Zentangle Beginner class or have proficient knowledge of the Zentangle method to attend this class. Please remember to bring all of your pens with you. We will have extras on hand at the store to purchase before class starts in case you need them.
